Vintage Madame Alexander Cissy Dolls
Vintage Madame Alexander Cissy dolls was released in 1955, and they were the first of the modern fashion dolls.
What set Cissy apart as something new and different was truly her sophisticated and mature figure with high-heeled feet. She was an expensive doll at the time, and today a dressed doll in mint condition commands an astronomical price.
Cissy was the most prominent doll in Alexander’s catalog from 1955 through 1959. In 1960, however, she took a back seat to the new “Playpal” type dolls, and was missing from the catalog altogether, although she was still available and was also being advertised under other names. Cissy is back and ready to show off her stunning fashion.
Cissy models a platinum mohair wig with golden braid detailing and crystal blue eyes. A mixture of gold lace and netting with crystals creates this avant garde look. As a finishing touch gold gloves, faux pearl earrings and gold peep-toe shoes with rhinestone décor are added. Brilliant Cascade Cissy is a fully articulated, 21″ doll. Brilliant Cascade Cissy is a limited edition of 150 pieces and is a part of the Couture collection. This Madame Alexander doll carries on the tradition of The Alexander Doll Company, which has been known for its elegant and beautifully costumed dolls for over 80 years.
Here she is again in her chocolate pin curls styled in a French twist and blue eyes, Cissy makes her entrance in a flowing pink and black silk chiffon skirt with matching bra and scarf. Underneath are a pair of beaded black hot pants that sparkle with her rose quartz and rhinestone earrings, black beaded bracelet, pink gloves, and black open toe heels. Cissy switches from day to evening with her tosca double French twist hairstyle.

Thank you for posting the images of these Madame Alexander Dolls — Love them. I have redone our spare bedroom and am considering setting up a doll display. The Vintage Madame Alexander Cissy Dolls would go really well. I have also been looking at African American Dolls to add to the collection too.

Even though I don’t have anything to do with dolls, my house is full of them. I have two sweet little girls, and they just love playing with dolls everyday.
And if that wasn’t enough, my wife like collecting vintage dolls, she has a pretty impressive collection so far, so I’m really glad I found your site.
The Vintage Madame Alexander Cissy Dolls look like the perfect gift for this Christmas, so I hope she will like it.
Thanks for the great info..

Oh, these dolls are really beautiful, I am glad to find this website and who knows, maybe my growing daughter would like them too? I had this idea to make a little cissy dolls collection for her, but first of all it’s good to find the right resource to come back when I need it.
